How to MAKE THE PERFECT TACO

A taco is as simple as it is complicated. It all begins with a tortilla. and ends with a good salsa but everything in between is both complex and (more importantly) delicious.

Here are how we make our tacos and why we are deliberate with every step of our process teaching what to look for when eating your next taco.

  1. IT ALL STARTS WITH THE TORTILLAS

A good tortilla is both soft and strong. You are supposed to taste the freshness of the corn (or flour) once you heat it a “comal” or a griddle while also making sure that it holds when you put the salsa in.

Our tortillas are made to our exact specifications and have remained consistent throughout the years.

We serve both corn and flour with both shipped in daily.

2. HAND CHOPPED ONIONS

We have placed an emphasis on making as many products as we can BY HAND. It tastes different and you can see it come through in every bite.

3. FRESH CILANTRO

Freshness is the key to Cilantro as it can be both unforgiving and delicious. If you don’t have it fresh, you can notice the color darken and the flavor start to bitter.

4. High Quality Meat

A high quality of meat is noticeable from the first bite. At Taqueria Hoy!, our meats are prepped daily and always fresh.

5. THE KEY TO ANY GOOD TACO IS THE SALSA

The famous saying among taqueros is “a good salsa can fix a bad taco”. This shows the importance to any good taco is its salsa. At Taqueria Hoy! our salsas are our main focus.

From our Al Pastor adobo salsa to our favorite HOYSIOSO Red and Green Salsas, we make all salsas BY HAND.

We are constantly developing new salsas with unique flavors so sign up on our email list to be the first to know!
